Some of my commissioned art work
Many of you are aware that I have been involved with producing art since 2007. You are welcome to visit my art page to view some of my recent commissioned art works.
Petrus Johannes Kruger, known as Hansie, is a visual artist based in Hermanus, South Africa, working under the signature PJK. He primarily works in acrylic and oil on canvas and board, focusing on landscapes, still portraits, and people. Hansie’s passion for art began in early childhood, where drawing became his natural form of expression. He later received formal training under Rika de Klerk (2007–2008), which helped shape his technical skill and artistic identity. Over the years, he has created a wide variety of artworks, most of which were commissioned, allowing him to bring personal stories to life through paint. At the heart of his work lies a love for storytelling—expressed through atmosphere, light, and quiet emotion. He believes that art has the power to move both the creator and the viewer, offering a space for reflection, memory, and connection. Many of Hansie’s landscapes are inspired by the Karoo – known as the “place of great thirst.” In these works, he seeks to capture the breathtaking beauty of nature, while also revealing the stark reality of a harsh, unforgiving environment where people fight to survive against the elements. Recent works include the Overberg theme with all its splendour and beauty. Through his thoughtful brushwork and grounded perspective, Hansie invites the viewer to pause, feel, and find their own story within his art. Some of my commissioned art work
